I sometimes put half water and half milk when I cook them slowly. Oatmeal is one of my favorite comfort foods - I love eating it for dinner sometimes when I'm feeling low or just want to feel a bit pampered. I always put a little brown sugar, milk and butter as well as whatever sounds tasty.
The best oatmeal I ever ate was plain with milk at a little youth hostel in St. David's Wales. I still remember it. We had spent the night and it was getting chilly in the bunk area.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13200245194489874517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1284470785139066414.post-76298923886854232302010-06-11T15:17:48.619-07:002010-06-11T15:17:48.619-07:00You asked about the variety name for the honeysuck...You asked about the variety name for the honeysuckle - I have no idea - I did look for a label, but could not find one. If I do find a label, I always include the names, simply because names are important. Husband thinks it hilarious that my daughters and I chose the colour for the hall partly by the name.
I love your description of making oatmeal. Personally, I think cooked oatmeal tastes like warm glue, so I simply eat the rolled oats raw. Add some to my cereal, or stir them into yogurt.
And I do agree about being more mindful of how we eat - the flavours and textures, esp.Judyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15609527768798543641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1284470785139066414.post-67950689203734891062010-04-10T15:27:53.019-07:002010-04-10T15:27:53.019-07:00You make oatmeal sound scrumptious! I enjoy making brown bread from time to time, without the bread-maker!, and am looking for a more golden bread recipe. I am an artist mostly and I like to live my life artfully if I can. I am glad to have found your blog!Lrchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07287598217794642050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1284470785139066414.post-22617024402166898592010-02-24T06:45:56.033-08:002010-02-24T06:45:56.033-08:00So, come back and visit;).So, come back and visit;).Owlfarmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15373358232893937182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1284470785139066414.post-20395879063060273862010-02-21T15:56:20.328-08:002010-02-21T15:56:20.328-08:00haha I know! Thankfully I was born with a healthy appetite and a strong stomach (and raw veggies are hard to screw up, of course)!krimzon11https://www.blogger.com/profile/15860965461621796040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1284470785139066414.post-12376953054502779292010-02-05T14:16:15.810-08:002010-02-05T14:16:15.810-08:00p.s.
